ARTS COUNCIL OF GREATER BATON ROUGE- STYLING PROPOSAL
PROJECT TYPE
STYLING PROPOSAL
DATE
2025
This styling concept supports the 2025 commercial for the Arts Council’s Talent Advancement Program, which highlights how creative education helps individuals redefine their paths. The story follows a main character who escapes a rigid corporate world and discovers self-expression and confidence through TAP.
The commercial opens in a cold, monochromatic boardroom where corporate overlords wear black suits and sunglasses, referencing The Matrix to emphasize a lifeless, oppressive system. The main character subtly stands apart with clear glasses and small pops of color, hinting at her creative potential.
Throughout the styling, pink, green, and blue are used as accents, pulled from the Arts Council’s brand palette to create cohesion and reinforce identity. These colors appear in the main character’s wardrobe and in the outfits of on-screen crew members, who wear practical pieces like jeans combined with creative flair.
As the narrative progresses, the main character’s wardrobe shifts from stiff corporate layers to relaxed, expressive looks. By the final scene, she wears a bold, textured dress that symbolizes her transformation and newfound confidence.
