In this reinterpretation, that support never comes. The character is dropped into a world where no one listens, no one connects, and no one helps him understand what he is feeling. He is left to face overwhelming emotion in total isolation. Unlike the original, there is no one to offer wisdom or love. The emotional arc is not about being tamed or returning home.
